PEG Leg MEg

Amputee, author, adaptive-athlete, podcast host, entrepreneur, creator, advocate

Megan Pascoe — affectionately known as Peg Leg Meg — is an amputee, adaptive athlete, content creator, and storyteller whose journey has inspired thousands.

In October 2024, just one week after her wedding, Megan lost her leg in a ride-on lawn mower accident. What began as a devastating trauma has since become a story of resilience, humour, and strength.

Megan has gone on to launch a podcast, document her journey with raw honesty on TikTok and YouTube, and compete overseas with the Australian Women’s Sitting Volleyball Team. She is also the author of a powerful book about surviving her first 12 months as an amputee, offering an unfiltered look at recovery, adaptation, and growth.

Beyond her public work, Megan is a devoted mum and wife who believes that while life doesn’t stop after trauma, it shifts — and with courage and community, new opportunities can emerge.

the amputee playbook

The Amputee Playbook is both a deeply personal story and a practical guide. It follows my first 12 months after becoming an amputee — from the shock of the accident and the raw early days in hospital, to navigating pain, rehabilitation, and rebuilding life in a body that felt completely different.

It’s honest and unfiltered: what it looked like, what it felt like, and everything I learned along the way. You’ll read about the setbacks and the breakthroughs, the days I thought I couldn’t do it, and the milestones I never imagined I’d achieve.

But this book isn’t just about me. The Amputee Playbook was created for new amputees searching for answers in those confusing early days, and for existing amputees who want to hear from someone who truly understands. It’s part memoir, part manual — blending real lived experience with advice, tips, and encouragement to help you find your way forward.

Whether you’re an amputee, a family member, or someone wanting to better understand the journey, The Amputee Playbook is proof that life after limb loss isn’t the end — it’s a new beginning.
